KLAWS Kerry

I’d a wee change of scenery yesterday and headed over the mountain to meet up with some of the volunteers, and movers and shakers, in KLAWS Kerry. We’d arranged a pot luck lunch and chin wag for no other reason than meeting face-to-face (some of us have only ever met on Facebook) and because Georgina was in town.

I’ve worked with KLAWS Kerry for years. I think it started with fostering the odd dog. And then a bit of animal transport. And maybe a feline foster or two. I’ve joined them at a couple of fundraising events too. And, most recently, I’ve been doing their enewsletter. In fact, I’d have to say they’re one of my favourite organisations.

For those of you who don’t know, KLAWS was established in 2006 and is run entirely by volunteers. Their raison d’être ~

KLAWS aims to finding loving, permanent homes for unwanted and abandoned cats and dogs and are committed to raising funds to help as many unwanted and stray animals as possible. KLAWS spay and neuter as many cats and dogs as possible and also treat sick or injured strays.

KLAWS do TNR, rescue & rehome and currently have regular rehoming days in PetMania, Manor West, Tralee. They’re based in Kenmare, Co Kerry, only 45 minutes from Bantry, Co Cork. And they have volunteers throughout Co Kerry.

If you’re interested in adopting a companion from KLAWS see their adoption pages: cats & dogs. And if you’d like to be kept up to date on their work, why not sign up to their enewsletter.

Oh! And I nearly forgot to mention Larry *headslap* I’m fostering him long-term for KLAWS. He’s not well enough to be rehomed and I’ll be updating ye on his progress soon – keep yer eyes peeled!
