*** UPDATE – REHOMED – YAY!!! ***
Special needs Eliza is looking for her forever home. Find out all about her – and see her gorgeous photos – here.
Update – 26/11
Eliza is most beautiful and affectionate. She’s also deaf. And she has lung damage, probably from pneumonia.
All she wants is a room somewhere. Preferably far away from the cold night air. And one enormous chair would be a bonus. She thinks that would be loverly.
Eliza appeared near Glengarriff Rd back in August. She’d obviously traveled in a car – covered in oil. She was tiny and scared and we had to trap her. At the vets they found she’d pneumonia and her lungs were damaged as a result.
When she came to me for recovery, she was so skinny it broke my heart. She was given an inhaler to see if that would help her breathing. And we kept a close eye on her to be sure she recovered.
She had 75% lung damage. But it’s expected as she’s grown, and grows, that healthy lung will develop, while the damaged lung stays the same size. This means the damage will have less effect on her with time.
It’s been an uphill time, but Eliza has gone from strength to strengtth and was deemed well enough to be neutered last week. She’s now around 5 or 6 months old. And she’s Gorgeous!
She’ll need an indoor home – deaf cats are especially vulnerable to traffic and other dangers, like dogs. And she’ll need a home able and willing to keep an eye on her lung health.
She gets on well with other cats and kittens. And loves to snuggle up in these winter months to keep you warm.
If you’d like to know more, PM me here, or phone me on 085 219 6229. She’s neutered, fully vaccinated with the usual shots and also for FeLV, negative for FIV and FeLV. She’s currently located in Bantry, but willing to travel for the right indoor home.
I’ve included loads of photos because I’ve had her for so long (three months) and she’s soooo photogenic!!!
Looking for a fosterer and/or forever home …
Eliza was found recently wandering in Bantry. Somewhat mucky and oily, we reckon she probably travelled inadvertently in a car. No-one has come forward to claim her, so we’ll be looking for a furrever home for her soon. She’s still a bit mucky, but will clean up gorgeous, and is a pure dote. She’s had her first vaccination. We’re waiting to see how she cleans up before neutering her. She’s prob around 2 or 3 months old.
PM me here or phone 085 219 6229 (at a reasonable time of day) if you’d like to know find out more about this adorable bebe.
Kittens Eliza’s age should be kept in a safe space, away from any chance of travelling in a car or other dangers.
This wee one appeared near Glengarriff Rd last night. She’s spent the night on her own, but is safe now. It looks like she’s travelled in a car engine. But she’s quite mucky so possibly hasn’t been cared for prior to her journey. She’s way too young to be outdoors unsupervised either way – around 8 or 10 weeks, maybe a bit older.
However, it’s possible someone is missing her. Proof of guardianship will be needed to claim.
