Although we’re not a rescue organisation, we inevitably take in animals from time to time. If they’re unwell we ask the vet to heal them. And, if we’re too late to help, we ask the vet to give the animal an easy journey out. When they’re well enough we neuter, vaccinate, worm and deflea and they stay with us till we can find a good home for them.
This section tells their stories. By following these links you’ll find each companion’s story, their medical history and links to more pictures (in some stories). As these webpages were started in 2012, we’ll only include a few animals from earlier years.
The animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete than ours, they move finished and complete, gifted with extension of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren; they are not underlings; they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendor and travail of the earth. ~ Henry Beston, The Outermost House, 1928
