Bruce was found wandering, starving and flea-ridden, in Bantry town recently. Taken in by RAWR, he’s going to stay with me for a wee while till he puts some weight on.

Bruce just arrived at mine this afternoon. Picked him up from the vet and we’d a wee walk through Bantry on our way home. He’s really not bad on the lead – and at one point I let him on the long lead and he kept to heel! Don’t think he’s been trained particularly but is a real quick study – answers to his name already, very eager to please, food orientated. He’s on the thin side – ribs showing – so I’m feeding him little and often at the mo as he’d eat till he’s sick, poor soul. He’s getting his first vaccination this week and neuter prob towards the end of next week once he’s put a bit of weight on.

He’s a lovely natured, affectionate dog. Follows me everywhere so far. Not house trained, but no accidents yet and seems amenable to going outside to do his business when encouraged – so am hoping he’ll be a quick study with that too.

He’ll be looking for his forever home in a couple of weeks, but do get in touch now if you think you’d be interested in letting him into your heart and home. He’d be a great family dog. Though not child-tested yet, he seems to love everyone he meets and is great with the cats [UPDATE: Not 100% great with cats – see later posts.].
